Charlie Chaplin's 'Little Tramp' Hat And Cane Go For $62,500 At Auction

Charlie Chaplin's iconic "Little Tramp" hat and cane went up on the auction block in Hollywood this afternoon.The trademark accessories sold for $62,500 through Bonhams auction house, according to City News Service. That's a little higher than what was expected. Chaplin borrowed the too-small hat nearly a century ago from Fatty Arbuckle's father-in-law while improvising at Keystone Studios.
The Chaplin accessories weren't the only items up on the auction block. An "erotic self-portrait" by John Lennon, featuring Yoko Ono went for $25,000. Some original photographs of Marilyn Monroe went for $21,250 and three paintings by Frank Sinatra were sold—one for $10,625.
