Red Hot Chili Peppers Bring Global Awareness to 'I'm With You' Tour

The Red Hot Chili Peppers sent out a call to action today asking German authorities to stop extradition of Sea Shepherd Captain Paul Watson to Costa Rica.
Ok... wait, what? How did we get from L.A. to Germany?
Turns out the quintessential L.A. band is stepping up in a huge way to support The Sea Sheperd Conservation Society (SSCS), an international non-profit marine wildlife conservation organization that was established in 1977.
According to the RHCP website, Captain Watson, has been in charge of the Sea Shepard Conservation Society for 31 years, and is a leader in the flight for a clean environment and marine conservation. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are major fans of his and the organization's work. Watson was arrested in Germany, the organization says, because he discovered an illegal shark finning operation in Costa Rica.
The band is urging its fans to learn more about the situation, the organization's global mission, and will have a Sea Shepherd table at all of its North American concerts this year.
"The Red Hot Chili Peppers are on tour and so are we!" the SSCS says on its website. "Sea Shepherd will be joining the band as they go on their 'I'm With You' 2012 concert world tour. Keep your eye out for the Sea Shepherd RV as it comes to a town near you!"
