LAst Night's Action: Clippers, Ducks Falter on the Road
Dallas Mavericks defeat LA Clippers 106-96. Dirk Nowitzki was called for a foul on Drew Gooden with 9:16 left in the third quarter with the Mavs up 65-56. The Clips would then go a run to take the lead 75-71 with the Mavs scoring a grand total of 14 points in the third. But Jason Kidd took over scoring a season high 26 points on his 37th birthday and led the Mavs back for the victory. Gooden who started off the season with the Mavs led the Clips with 26 points and 20 rebounds while Chris Kaman had 22 points and nine rebounds. Eric Gordon and Rasual Butler each added 16 points while the bench produced all of five points.
Calgary Flames defeat Anaheim Ducks 3-1. In a game between two teams desperate to get into the playoffs, the Flames made more of the desperation plays. Scott Niedermayer scored the only goal for the Ducks 14:27 in the second period to tie the game, but Rene Bourque would score the winning goal four minutes later on a breakaway caused when Jerome Iginla picked Corey Perry’s pocket.
