Eye Nosh: Do These Crepes Look...Creepy?

CrepesFarmersMarket.jpg

Without a doubt, one of the highlights of visiting the legendary Farmer's Market is sampling some of the amazing food there. (Like the Loteria Grill, perhaps?)

LAist Featured Photos pool contributor neonspecs shares this savory crepe plate from the French Crepe Company, commenting: "Less than amazing chicken crepes. But satisfactory. Salad dressing was gross." We will concur that the dressing looks gross (should dressing really hold its shape like that when dispersed on lettuce?) and that, since we've had crepes here before, that they are generally good. Of course, if you prefer your crepes on the sweet side, you might find these Crepes Suzette (found in Old Town Pasadena) more to your liking.

The farmer's cheese and strawberry preserves crepe is divine!

I was here with a friend once and between us we had a sweet and a savory crepe that were both fantastic. I think the sweet was some tropical fruit concoction while the savory was some type of ham and cheese. Mixing the ham and cheese with the lettuce, tomato, and dressing (which I recall being mustard based) was excellent.

It's too bad neonspecs had a less than stellar visit, but based on my previous experience I definitely look forward to going back.
