The Greatest News In the History Of the World!!!

radiohead is coming

10 Days.....what happens in 10 days? If you guessed the release of a new Radiohead album then you are correct. Forgoing a label release, Thom and the boys made this statement on their website, Dead Air Space, this morning:

Hello everyone. Well, the new album is finished, and it's coming out in 10 days; We've called it In Rainbows. Love from us all. Jonny

More details, tracklist, pre-order info after the jump...

It has long been known that the Band had been recording new material but without a label deal in place the release of this album was unknown. Now with all these questions answered here is the tracklist:

15 STEP
BODYSNATCHERS
NUDE
WEIRD FISHES/ARPEGGI
ALL I NEED
FAUST ARP
RECKONER
HOUSE OF CARDS
JIGSAW FALLING INTO PLACE
VIDEOTAPE

The album can be pre-purchased only through Radiohead's official site for the album as a digital download.

Oddly enough you have the option of choosing your price for the download. Awesome!!!

They also have the option of a discbox which the site lists containing the following:

THIS CONSISTS OF THE NEW ALBUM, IN RAINBOWS, ON CD
AND ON 2 X 12 INCH HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL RECORDS.
A SECOND, ENHANCED CD CONTAINS MORE NEW SONGS, ALONG WITH DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS AND ARTWORK.
THE DISCBOX ALSO INCLUDES ARTWORK AND LYRIC BOOKLETS.
ALL ARE ENCASED IN A HARDBACK BOOK AND SLIPCASE.

Pricing of the Discbox is £40.00 and will ship Dec 3rd.

This is a truly amazing and exciting event in music as one of the biggest bands have decided to forgo the label system and release the album themselves. Other Bands (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Arctic Monkeys) have done it themselves but none on the level of Radiohead. It is a bold and risky move that will no doubt pay off for the group.

What they are doing is cool, but it means I'll have to hear about it from sites like this for the next six months.

>OK Computer didn't save my life. Leave me the fuck alone.

>Radiohead fanatics make non-fanatics hate Radiohead even when there's nothing to really hate.

Here's hoping it's not a scam....

The Charlatans announced as well that they will be offering their new album as a free download.
