Persevering For A Pet Project

Today's special membership drive edition of The Frame is devoted entirely to John Horn's interview with Edward Norton. He's the director and star of "Motherless Brooklyn," a film based on Jonathan Lethem’s book of the same name. Norton acquired the rights in 1999, but he didn’t finish adapting the script until 2016. The film has an all-star cast that includes Bruce Willis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Willem Dafoe and Alec Baldwin, who plays a Trump-like villain. When John spoke with Norton at the Telluride Film Festival, they discussed why it took so long to make the film, which opens on Nov. 1.
