On today's show:

The 'Serial' podcast leads to an HBO docu-series

(Starts at 1:00)

Adnan Syed was convicted of killing his high school girlfriend in 1999. The 2014 podcast, "Serial," cast doubt on his guilt and led to his attorneys filing an appeal. Now, documentary filmmaker Amy Berg covers the story in the four-part HBO documentary, "The Case Against Adnan Syed." (Syed's appeal was turned down on March 8, two days before the first episode aired.) Berg spoke with John Horn about her film.

Drumming away the 'Bad Hombre' myth

(Starts at 19:30)

Antonio Sanchez, the drummer who created the percussion score for the 2015 best picture, "Birdman," went on to write and record an album in 2017 titled "Bad Hombre," inspired by President Trump's description of people coming into the U.S. from Mexico. Sanchez is set to perform the album live for the first time. We revisit his interview with John Horn when the album was released.
