Striking a "Pose" for '80s ball culture

The new FX series explores the glamorous house ball scene in 1980s New York City. The "houses" are self-selected families made up of ostracized LGBTQ youth, and led, for the most part, by trans-women known as "house mothers."  The show features more transgender actors in series regular roles than any scripted series in television history.

Why is the Pasadena Museum of California Art shutting down?

The museum was founded in 2002 by Robert and Arlene Oltman in a building that they commissioned and in which they live. Though the museum has a solid reputation for presenting exhibitions on a wide range of art from California, the board of directors recently voted to shut down this fall.

A baseball player's secret double play
