In "What the Constitution Means to Me," playwright Heidi Schreck uses her childhood passion for debate and the U.S. constitution as a gateway to explore how the nation’s most treasured document connects with historic and continuous violence against women. She intertwines historical anecdotes and facts with her own family’s experiences with violence, sexual abuse and trauma. Schreck performed her own writing for the show's Broadway run, but for the current production at the Mark Taper Forum, she chose actress Maria Dizzia to stand in for her.  John Horn spoke with the two of them about this new iteration of the play.
