Using non-professional actors, the Lebanese film "Capernaum" tells the story of an impoverished 12-year-old boy who sues his parents — and, in a way, the system — for not providing him with what he needs for a life. He's a street urchin, a runaway, but he's also a resilient captivating young person whose story, filmmaker Nadine Labaki hopes, will move people to think about kids like her main character all over the world. "Capernaum" has an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Film. Labaki tells John Horn how her film came about.
