Wayne Kramer, the guitarist and leader of the Detroit rock band MC5, has a new memoir out called "The Hard Stuff: Dope, Crime, the MC5, and My Life of Impossibilities." It covers his formative years in the late '60s as a rock icon and civil rights activist and how his stint in prison transformed him into a prison-reform advocate. As Kramer was preparing to go back on tour in honor of MC5’s 50th anniversary, he spoke with The Frame about being a fixture in rock and roll history.
