Update on the Sativa Water District

Debates continue over whether to get rid of a small water district in Compton and Willowbrook. The Sativa District has faced allegations of mismanaging funds on top of customer complaints about brown water. In July, LA County's Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) which oversees water districts like Sativa voted to start dissolving the district. A new bill that's passed the State legislature and is sitting on Governor Brown's desk would streamline the process to get rid of the district. But Sativa is fighting back. They say this bill would put other small locally- elected districts in danger.
