El Norte

The plot from the 1982 film, El Norte, could be ripped from the headlines of today. A pair of indigenous teens from Guatemala journey north to try and seek refuge in the United States. The film was a huge success and highlighted the plight of migrants from Latin America. On its 35th anniversary, we discuss the film's all-too-real relevance and how Latinos are still struggling to have their stories heard in Hollywood.
