We speak with L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger about the new emergency response vehicles the county will use to respond to some 911 calls. And, "Jurassic Park" screenwriter David Koepp talks about his first novel, "Cold Storage," which is also being turned into a movie.

AB-5 Update

Bill AB5 would reclassify an estimated two million California contractors as employees. The bill passed the state legislature and now heads to the desk of Governor Newsom. He's expected to sign it. The passage of that bill puts the state at odds with Uber and Lyft - two companies that depend on contractors. So, what happens next for the tech titans?

L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger unveiled two new types of vehicles Monday that officials will send out when responding to someone in the midst of a mental health crisis.

Trump and Homelessness Breakdown

The Washington Post reported Tuesday that Trump was pushing for a crackdown on homeless encampments in California. And considering moving people off the streets into government-run facilities. It's unclear exactly what the administration might do — if anything. But Trump administration officials were in Los Angeles this week to learn more about the city's efforts to address homelessness.

David Koepp "Cold Storage"

You may not recognize David Koepp by name, but you definitely know his movies. Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, Spider-Man, Panic Room. He wrote them all. And now, one of Hollywood's most successful screenwriters has turned to fiction with his first novel, Cold Storage -- a comedic thriller about three strangers who join forces to stop a parasitic virus from taking over the world. We asked Koepp to come in studio and tell us about it.
