Salton Sea Emergency Declaration

The Imperial Valley Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to declare a local state of emergency at the Salton Sea. In addition to the action on the state's largest lake, supervisors said they will likely seek another emergency declaration on the badly polluted New River, which flows into the Salton Sea. To get clarity on how the lake and rivers of the area have fallen into these conditions, Take Two speaks with local officials who are advocating for state and federal intervention.
