A new L.A. County report on the Woolsey Fire says emergency officials were unprepared for massive evacuations. Plus, the L.A. L.A. County Woolsey Fire Report

According to a new L.A. County report on last year's Woolsey fire, emergency management officials were not prepared for evacuations before the most destructive fire in the county's history.

Los Angeles Taxi Reform

If you need to get somewhere fast, Uber and Lyft are the usual go-tos. Taxis -- not so much. But that's about to change. The Los Angeles Department of Transportation is proposing new rules to the City Council's transportation committee this afternoon so that taxis can be more competitive.

Home Wreckers

If you only had a second to define the term "home wrecker," you'd be forgiven, in the post-Jerry Springer Show era, for imagining a betrayed husband or wife sitting next to their cheating spouse when along comes the person who came between them. While this is not the kind of home wrecker we're going to talk about today, there are a lot of similarities. Fraud, greed, capitalizing on someone else's misfortune -- all of that has been used to describe the big tycoons who made a killing foreclosing on mortgages after the 2008 housing market collapse. That story is at the heart of the new book called "Home Wreckers."
