Power Shut-Off Costs, LA Dodgers Lose To The Nationals, Space X Hosts NASA

How Santa Ana winds are affecting the Los Angeles area, How fans are reacting to L.A. Dodgers loss to the Washington Nationals, and when Space X will be sending NASA astronauts to the International Space Station.

We look at how the Santa Ana winds are affecting the area. Plus, how fans are reacting to the Los Angeles Dodgers losing to the Washington Nationals. And, Space X hosted NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine and two astronauts today to talk about the future of its commercial crew program.

POWER SHUT-OFFS

Power shut-offs are happening across the state. They're part of a larger effort to prevent wildfires as high winds sweep Northern and Southern California. To that end, Southern California Edison says it's cut power to nearly 13,000 customers in four counties, including Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Ventura. While the shutoff efforts are aimed at preventing loss of property and life, they're not without cost either. One Stanford energy professor even gave it a dollar figure: about $1.8 billion dollars a day.

L.A. Dodgers Lose to Washington Nationals

The team that won a franchise record - 106 games - in the regular season, 7-straight division titles and been to back to back World Series...are done. Last night the Dodgers lost in the first round - a gigantic letdown for fans. They'll be waiting 'till next year but have a whole lot of questions to ponder until then.

LGBTQ Democratic Presidential Forum

Tonight, several of the Democratic presidential candidates will be in downtown L.A. for a town hall on LGBTQ rights. It's one of a handful of times they'll be in Southern California and is also the first-ever televised presidential event focused on LGBTQ issues. We wanted to find out what some voters will be looking for in the candidates, and who are their front-runners already.
