President Trump's upcoming California visit, getting water-dropping fire tankers up in the air, New York University will open L.A. campus in 2019.

Fighting fires from the air

It's taken over 3,000 fire personnel to get the Woolsey fire to 69 percent containment But for all the hard work firefighters do, they can often use a little help from above in the form of planes carrying water and fire retardant. Capital Public Radio's Bob Moffat brings us this story about people who help fight fire from the air.

New York University to open LA campus

New York University plans to open an "academic center" along with student housing in Los Angeles next year. Part of its Tisch School for the Arts, the new campus will focus on entertainment, music and media. NYU's announcement follows a similar move by Arizona State University to open a brick-and-mortar location in downtown L.A. for its journalism school.
