Kamala Becomes First Female Vice President

Well, after days of uncertainty, it's nice to head into the next hour knowing who will be the next president - and vice president - of the United States. And after Saturday's announcement that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be headed to the White House, it's the vice president that have people talking about.

The Orange County Registrar said a few days ago that it could be weeks before final election results are known, and that leaves things unclear for hotly contested congressional seats. We check in on that and other key local races in Orange County.

Nithya Raman Wins LA City Council Seat

Now, ballots are still being counted in Los Angeles County… but the results for many major races are in. KPCC’s Senior Politics Reporter Libby Denkmann spoke to one of the new members of the Los Angeles City Council today -- Nithya Raman who will represent District 4, including Los Feliz, Sherman Oaks and parts of Koreatown.
