Malibu and Calabasas Fire Check-in
Roughly 75,000 people have been evacuated across communities in Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Thousand Oaks and now Malibu, which was ordered to evacuate at 6:45 Friday morning.

President Trump asylum proclamation
President Trump signed a proclamation this morning to block asylum seekers who cross the border illegally between ports of entry. The administration had announced new rules Thursday that officials said would expand the president's authority to deny asylum to those who don't come through a port of entry to present themselves. The president's ban is expected to take effect Saturday and last 90 days, or until the U.S. reaches an agreement with Mexico to turn back asylum seekers who travel through that country. Many asylum seekers showing up at the border are Central American families who've fled violence in their home countries. But there are still questions about what this means and how it would work.

Opening weekend of Cal Lutheran play about Columbine shooting cancelled
It was College Country night at the Borderline bar and grill in Thousand Oaks, when a shooter killed 12 people. The bar was popular with students at Pepperdine and California Lutheran universities. Students at Cal Lutheran had been working on a play called Columbinus, which tells the story of the Columbine High School shooting. That production was meant to open last night, but given recent events, the first weekend of shows has now been cancelled. And there has been a lot of talk among the cast about whether the show should go on.
