Today, we speak with L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti about his response to community push back on temporary homeless shelters and get the latest on Disney-Pixar chief creative officer, John Lasseter —now that his sabbatical for alleged unwanted touching has ended— and details on proposed cuts to Title X funding for family planning clinics.
How cuts to Title X funding could affect SoCal family planning clinics
(Starts at 1:10)
Real talk: healthcare is expensive. Many Southern Californians seek reproductive health care at free or low-cost clinics like Planned Parenthood. The White House has said it wants to cut off funding to such clinics, if they include abortion as an option in counseling patients and on Friday, the White House received a proposal for exactly how these cuts could happen. Take Two explains the mechanics of the federal funding for family planning called Title X, and what this change means for reproductive care in Southern California.

Thrifty ice cream is coming to Albertsons
(Starts at 38:10)
Albertsons is set to merge with Rite Aid - negotiations are ongoing - but for most of us who grew up in Southern California, the most significant part of that deal is the Thrifty Ice Cream Rite Aid sells. That ice cream—thanks to its flavor and low prices — has long been a favorite treat for Angelenos. According to Los Angeles Times, Rite Aid executives last week said Albertsons will keep the Thrifty brand and sell it in their stores. Whether it will continue to be made locally is an open question. What's your favorite Thrifty flavor? Take our poll below!

The past, present and future of LA's aerospace
(Starts at 39:55)
If you Google "entertainment capital of the world" the first thing that pops up is "Los Angeles." No surprise, right? L.A. has long been the epicenter of show business, but that wasn't the only industry to make its mark. Long before Elon Musk came to Hawthorne and set up Space X, L.A. was the hub for another avenue to the stars, the real ones, way up in the sky. Geoff Manaugh wrote about this for The Atlantic in a piece called "Los Angeles, America's Future Spaceport."
