College ex-offenders
In the last four years in California, there's been a three-fold increase in the number of community colleges with programs to support students with criminal records. The programs target these students' most critical time: the first year. KPCC's Adolfo Guzman-Lopez reports.
Seniors at CSU
Around California, there are about 134-thousand public college students over the age of 50. Today, as part of our Graying California series, Vanessa Rancaño takes us to Fresno to meet a senior who's hitting the books.
Tariffs Effect in LA
As talks continue between China and the U.S. continue over trade, the Trump administration again hiked tariffs on Chinese goods at 12:01 this morning. KPCC's David Wagner has looked into how this is starting to affect industries here and joins A Martinez.
Carbon Neutral Food
Border Grill has enrolled in a program called Restore California, that would declare them "carbon neutral" Participating restaurants can either go through a verification process to attain that designation or they can add a ONE percent surcharge to customer bills that will pay farmers to transition to climate-friendly practices. We went to the downtown location to see how it'll be implemented.
