Congressman Adam Schiff on House Releasing Transcripts of Russia Probe Interviews

Yesterday, the House Intelligence Committee released 57 transcripts of interviews conducted between 2017 and 2018 to find out if Donald Trump and his campaign colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 election. Just a quick refresher, at the end of his investigation, Special Counsel Robert Mueller found that Russia did interfere but did not find that the Trump campaign conspired with them. As far as the President obstructing justice, Mueller did not reach a conclusion. California congressman Adam Schiff was not chairing the Intelligence Committee at the time those interviews were being done, but now he is charged. In this role, he is also pushing for a coronavirus response commission, looking at the administration's handling of the pandemic.

The California retailers that have been allowed to reopen today include bookstores, toy stores, sporting goods stores, and — just in time for Mother’s Day — flower stores. We scoped out the Flower District in Downtown LA this morning to see the buzz.

On the Frontlines: Emergency Room Nurse Shares Experience

Now even though some retail stores are re-opening today, the number of people diagnosed with COVID-19 in L.A. County continues to climb. We now have a total of 30,296 cases of COVID-19 and 1,468 deaths. With that in mind, let's hear from someone who's been on the frontlines of this pandemic since March. Angelica Jaime is a registered nurse in the emergency room at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Hummingbird Rescue

For some of us, it’s all about the hummingbirds. Many of them have migrated west during April and we are now beginning to see them nest and lay their eggs. Leaving us with beautiful moments to capture on film. But also a lot of questions about some of their behaviors. Terry Masear is the founder of the Los Angeles Hummingbird Rescue. Her rescue takes in injured hummingbirds, rehabilitates them and releases them back into the wild in Los Angeles. She's been advising people over the phone during the pandemic on the best way to take care of them.

Hiking Trails

For the past month, most hiking trails in Southern California have been off-limits. They were closed out of concern that people would crowd each other on the trails and unwittingly transmit the coronavirus.Tomorrow, some of them re-open. But, if you are planning to head out, there’s some important things you need to know.
