Safer at Home
The L.A. County Department of Public Health announced 64 new coronavirus cases in a press conference this afternoon. If that number seems small, director Barbara Ferrer said her department is preparing for many more in the days to come. Though that seems grave, its important to understand the potential risk. Especially give the news we received Thursday night. LA leaders announced orders that officially close certain businesses along with providing instructions on where and how residents can move and gather thru the area. Since then the twitter hashtag #losangeleslockdown has been trending, which may lead to some confusion about what's allowed and what's not. LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger explains what this all means for you.

The 'Chinese Virus'
Yesterday during a press briefing, President Trump doubled down on calling the Coronavirus the “Chinese virus.” He has defended the use of the label … by saying that the virus comes from China, however the only thing that’s generally agreed on by experts so far is that the first reported cases of COVID-19 were from the city of Wuhan in the Eastern part of the country. The president insisting on the name largely ignores criticism from the Asian American community and others that the term is racist and anti-Chinese.
