On March 3rd, Angelenos won't JUST be casting a ballot for president. There's also the race for L-A County District Attorney. The fight over who will run the country's largest prosecutor's office is the latest chapter in a push to elect reformist DAs across the U.S. KPCC's Emily Elena Dugdale sat down with all three candidates — incumbent DA Jackie Lacey, former San Francisco DA George Gascon and former public defender Rachel Rossi.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra joins us to discuss his office's investigation into the Los Angeles Police Department's use of the state's gang member database, called CALGANG, in light of LAPD officers allegedly making up information to justify entering people into the database.

 It's about a landlord — PAMA Management — that owns thousands of properties in Southern California.

 Some tenants were living in deplorable conditions but there was no pressure for PAMA to get things in order.

 And for those renters they were stuck. Because California's housing crisis is so tight they couldn't afford to live elsewhere.

 We have a follow-up to that story along with responses from listeners
