There's a LOT of Californians headed to Washington, LA's only Black-Owned birthing center, and we look back at the hashtag that launched a referendum on racial equity in Hollywood.

California is feeling DC's Love

From November 2016 all the way up until November 2020, the relationship between California and Washington DC was....well, terse and tense. But since? Seems that, so far, with Kamala Harris as Vice President and other Californians tapped for high profile roles in the Biden Administration, the connection between DC and California has been very clear to see.

In L.A. County, Black babies are three times more likely to die before their first birthday than white babies, and black moms are four times more likely to die in childbirth.
