Faulconer Launches Campaign for California Governor

As more polls show public opinion plummeting for Governor Gavin Newsom, former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer announced his California gubernatorial campaign today in San Pedro. He is the first major Republican to enter the governor's race.

District Attorney Gascon's Enhancement Trial

LA District Attorney George Gascon is back in court this morning (TUE) to defend his sweeping new policies designed to reduce mass incarceration and end racial disparities in the justice system.The union that represents his prosecutors has sued Gascon, saying his policies amount to an end run around state law. This is already causing problems for the DA on the front lines.

Rookie Detective on Night Stalker Case Had a Hunch That Wasn't Believable...At First

From June of 1984 to August of 85, serial killer Richard Ramirez terrorized Los Angeles. He was called The Night Stalker and when his gruesome run was over he was ultimately convicted of 13 murders, 5 attempted murders, 11 sexual assaults and 14 burglaries. A new Netflix series dives into the crime spree and what it took to catch him. It's called Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer.
One of the people featured is Gil Carillo - one of the LA County Sheriff's detectives tasked with tracking down Ramirez.
