Aliso Canyon Safety Report
California has been looking to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels like coal and oil and rely more on clean alternatives like wind and solar. For some time now, natural gas has been marketed asat the “bridge” fuel that can help us make that transition. But the Aliso Canyon gas disaster in 2015 threw that into doubt. A broken well at the underground gas storage field near Porter Ranch caused the nation’s largest uncontrolled release of natural gas. And THAT put gas storage under the regulatory microscope. A trial – of sorts – of Southern California Gas Company’s operation of the Aliso Canyon gas storage field started yesterday.

California's New Privacy Data Law
California’s new online privacy law, AB 375, goes into effect Jan 2020. It’s been a long time coming and online users can expect a barrage of emails from network services like Facebook, Amazon and Google about updated terms of service.

LACMA Campus
Los Angeles County Museum of Art inched closer to finalizing its plans for a multi-million dollar renovation and redesign, one piece that includes a gallery that spans over Wilshire Blvd. However, the museum is far from raising enough to fund the project.
