The Joy - and the Concern - Over LA County Entering Orange Tier

LA County moved into the Orange Tier today, which means places like restaurants and movie theaters can allow more people indoors. It’s a good thing, but a whole lot of caution is still advised. Plus, what's the latest on vaccinations for kids under 16.

Behind-the-Scenes as Los Angeles Unified Preps to Reopen Classrooms

Across L.A. County, more public schools are inviting students back to classrooms: this week, districts from Duarte to Whittier to San Dimas will resume some in-person teaching. The biggest reopening in our area begins next week, when Los Angeles Unified reopens its first batch of elementary campuses. KPCC's Kyle Stokes takes a behind-the-scenes look at the preparations. 

Los Angeles Unified Expands Vaccination Sites on Campus to 25 Locations

As LAUSD plans for reopening next week, today the district announced that more campuses will be used as vaccinations sites - 25 in total.

The Ongoing Saga of Tin Horn Flats Saloon in Burbank

A bar and restaurant over in Burbank has made a big stir by defying the authorities during the pandemic. From the LA County Health Department, to the Burbank City Council, to court orders and police warnings, the Tin Horn Flats Saloon says they’re having none of it.  The business insists nothing will keep it closed, becoming something of a rallying cry against lockdown mandates.
