‘Jackie Brown’ star Robert Forster looks back on the performance that earned him an Oscar nomination

Last weekend, FilmWeek celebrated the 20th anniversary of one of Larry’s favorite movies, “Jackie Brown,” with a screening at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

Starring Pam Grier, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert DiNiro and Robert Forster, the film is a Quentin Tarantino adaptation of Elmore Leonard’s 1992 novel  “Rum Punch.”’

Robert Forster’s performance as bail bondsman Max Cherry earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He stopped by FilmWeek’s studio recently and sat down with Larry to talk about how he met director Quentin Tarantino, his palpable on-screen chemistry with co-star Pam Grier and what his role in the film meant for the rest of his career.
