Movies worth watching again and again

Viewers are overwhelmed by an abundance of original television shows, so sometimes an old, familiar movie is the best thing on.

In addition to Netflix’s “Watch it Again” queue, viewers can count on cable networks to repeat favorites again and again. "Sleepless in Seattle," "A League of Their Own," and "A Few Good Men" are some of the mainstream flicks that get dozens of repeat airings throughout a given year.

Reason being, old movies earn better non-primetime ratings than original television fare on cable, according to 2014 research by IHS Markit. The middle-brow movies might not be contenders for the American Film Institute's revered Top 100 list, but they can serve as risk-free comfort food on an ever-growing menu of original shows.

If you are the type who can watch the same movie over and over again, which movies make your list?

The "Die Hard" franchise? Nearly anything with Steven Spielberg, Nora Ephron, or Nancy Meyers in the credits?
