Halloween Costumes Now On Strike? The Latest With SAG, Actors And Studios
While screenwriters are busy back at work, film and TV actors remain on picket lines, with the longest strike in their history set to hit 100 days on Saturday after talks broke off with studios. Hopes were high and leaders of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists were cautiously optimistic when they resumed negotiations on Oct. 2 for the first time since the strike began 2 1/2 months earlier. George Clooney and other big-name actors met with SAG-AFTRA leaders this week offering a proposal to remove a cap on union dues. President Fran Drescher wearily responded noting that the proposal doesn’t align with what the contract is striking over. Actors also expressed confusion and anger this week when the union warned that certain Halloween costumes could violate striking protocols. Joining to discuss the latest is Dominic Patten, senior editor for Deadline, and Elaine Low, reporter at The Ankler covering the business of Hollywood.

Home Sales Are Slowing But Prices Still Haven't Dropped In California
Last month's home sales slowed to the lowest rate in about 13 years due to 22-year high interest rates. This means less people are able to borrow money and afford to buy, which usually leads to sellers slashing prices. But sellers don't want to give up their low mortgage rates and are staying put, so inventory is low and prices are not going down, especially in California. Joining Larry to discuss the current trends and where the market could be headed is Logan Mohtashami, lead analyst for the real estate news site HousingWire.
