Sacramento Update
Saturday, the Governor vetoed two high profile energy bills, one that would have allowed investor owned utilities to build their own power plants and the other that would have pushed up the deadline by seven years to require at least 20% of the state's energy to come from renewable resources. Larry Mantle talks with guests about these vetoes and the Governor's relationship with lobbyists and special interest groups as well as bills awaiting his signature or veto. Larry's guests are: Dan Morain, staff writer for the LA Times and Sherry Bebitch Jeffe, Political Analyst and Senior Scholar at the School of Public Planning and Development at USC.

Together they look at the evolving political voice of the African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities of Los Angeles.
Electoral Overhaul in Colorado
On November 2, Coloradans will be voting on Amendment 36 which will change the way the state allocates its 9 electoral votes. If passed, Colorado's electoral college votes will be divided up proportionately depending on how many votes each candidate receives. Larry Mantle talks about this controversial amendment with election Law expert Rick Hasan.
