The Politics And Economics Of The Bailout

AirTalk for September 26, 2008

Negotiations broke down yesterday and now it's unclear when a bailout package will reach Wall Street. Meanwhile, the economy continues its slide, with Washington Mutual's failure. Republicans are split and the Dems aren't exactly unified either on what kind of a bailout will stop the slide of the economy without rewarding the same people who wrought the mess in the first place. Then, Larry will look at how this will impact the debates tonight, now that McCain announced that he will be there at the University of Mississippi. Guests include Jack Shaw, Congressional reporter for MarketNews International, James Wilcox, Professor of Financial Institutions at Berkeley's Haas School of Business, Doyle McManus, Washington Bureau Chief for the Los Angeles Times, David Enrich, Wall Street Journal reporter, and Mark Barabak, Los Angeles Times political correspondent.
