The Jena 6 Rallies
Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Jena, Louisiana today to show support for six black teenagers who had been charged with attempted murder in the beating of a white classmate. The beating occurred shortly after three white students hung nooses on a tree at Jena High School. Larry discusses the incident with Dr. Steven Webb, who participated in a rally in Hollywood this morning. Other rallies in support of the Jena 6 are scheduled throughout Los Angeles today. At noon, high school and college students will speak on behalf of the Jena 6 at Los Angeles Southwest College, and there is a rally scheduled for 4pm in Leimert Park.
