The 100-plus Indian tribes in California are having more and more influence of California politics and policy. Larry Mantle talks with a variety of guests about the Recall election, new tribe-sponsored legislation, and other ways the tribes are asserting their economic and political power in California. Joining him are Jim Sweeney, a reporter for Copley News Service, Rodney Wilson, President of Pacific Research, a public relations and political consulting company, Jerome Stocks, Mayor of the City of Encinitas, California, and Cheryl Schmidt, Founder and Director of Stand Up for California, an organization opposing the expansion of casinos, card rooms and other gambling establishments into California's neighborhoods.
