Larry also talks with State Assemblywoman Sally Leiber (22nd district) and Reason Foundation President David Nott about AB 48, a bill that would raise the minimum wage in California by a dollar to $7.25.

HURRICANE KATRINA UPDATE
As floodwaters begin to recede in New Orleans, search and rescue efforts continue. Larry Mantle talks with Major General William B. Caldwell IV of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. The division has continues to rescue New Orleans residents, and has evacuated over 3500 people in the last week since its deployment. The 82nd Airborne Division has just launched a massive new search and recovery effort using paratroopers and small boats. Larry also talks with UCLA toxicology professor John Froines about the short and long-term biological, chemical and ecological impact of the tainted floodwaters.
