Hotel Workers Negotiate for a New Contract

AirTalk for September 3, 2004

Three thousand hotel workers in LA have been without a contact for several months. Two weeks ago the Hotel Employers Council voted to lock out their workers but the action was averted by the intervention of a federal mediator. Larry Mantles talks with Vivian Rothstein, Deputy Director of Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy and co-founder of the LA Coalition to Support a Hotel Workers, and Kenneth Ballard, spokesman for the Los Angeles Hotel Employers Council and attorney with the firm of Ballard, Rosenberg, Golper and Savitt, about the dispute and the ongoing negotiations between Los Angeles hotel worker and owners.
