Governor Sarah Palin And The Vetting Process

AirTalk for September 2, 2008

Senator John McCain says he was satisfied that Sarah Palin's background was fully vetted before he chose the Alaska governor as his Vice Presidential running mate. Governor Palin disclosed yesterday that her unmarried 17-year-old daughter is pregnant. It's also come to light that the governor has retained a private attorney to represent her in an investigation into the firing of the state public safety commissioner. According to the AP, an attorney who conducted Palin's background review said she voluntarily told McCain's campaign about her daughter's pregnancy as well as her husband's 2-decade-old DUI arrest. Larry discusses the Vice-Presidential vetting process with Mark Barabak, Los Angeles Times staff writer, Jim McTague, Washington Bureau Chief of Barron's Financial Weekly, and listeners.
