The Dash for the Finish
It seems hard to believe, but the 2008 election is almost over. Larry checks in with David Mark, Politico's senior editor, to find out what's in store from the two campaigns over the last weekend.
Last Minute Campaigning
Larry talks with representatives of both presidential campaigns about what candidates John McCain and Barack Obama will attempt to accomplish in the last few days before the election.
Measure A: Property Tax for Afterschool and Anti-Gang Programs
Larry Mantle moderates a debate on Measure A, which would add an additional $36 to the property tax bills of City of Los Angeles homeowners. The money would fund after-school programs including tutoring, arts and apprenticeship programs focused on keeping kids out of gangs. Proponents argue that paying for these programs up front would cost less than arresting and imprisoning gang member later. Opponents of the proposition argue that LA residents are already paying a recently tripled trash fee to fight against gangs.
