Election season enters home stretch

Voters have just a few days left to make up their minds before Election Day on Nov. 2. Have you decided who you’re voting for - Fiorina or Boxer, Whitman or Brown? Or perhaps you’re casting your ballot for one of the lesser-known candidates? What about the props and initiatives? If you’re still undecided, what’s it going to take for you to choose? Is there a particular political ad or informative moment in the debates that influenced you one way or the other? Maybe even something you heard right here on KPCC? Larry opens the phones and takes the electorate’s pulse.

Election for California’s next elections chief - Bowen vs. Dunn

The fraught politics of this election season extend beyond the big campaigns, to bids for lesser-known statewide positions. In the race for California’s next Secretary of State, Dem incumbent Debra Bowen is battling GOP newcomer Damon Dunn. Bowen points to her track record of defending the integrity of state voting, while Dunn hopes to extend registration efforts to minority voters. The victor will be responsible for monitoring the integrity of state voting, election contributions, and new technology meant to smooth registration and access to information. How do Bowen and Dunn propose to do all that? Will incumbent experience or newbie enthusiasm win?

Guests:

Damon Dunn, Republican candidate for California Secretary of State; real estate developer and former NFL football player

Debra Bowen, Democratic incumbent candidate for California Secretary of State
