The Cost of College

AirTalk for October 25, 2007

Why is college tuition rising faster than the rate of inflation? With financial aid to students on the decline and tuitions costs going up, many parents and college bound students find themselves struggling with the cost of higher education. Larry talks about how students pay for their education and examines the cost to the institution of educating students with David Levy of Scripps College, Patricia Hurley, Ed. D, of Glendale Community College, Robert Daly of UC Riverside, and Mike Groener of Occidental College. The program is the first in KPCC's "College Tour," a series of AirTalk and Patt Morrison special broadcasts this fall exploring various issues in higher education.
