We may be in a recession but people still need to eat, or do they? Restaurants are hurting as cash-strapped diners decide to eat at home or hit the drive-thru. Larry Mantle takes calls from listeners in the service industry and folks who are finding it more prudent to stay home than go out for a meal at their favorite eatery. He also talks to California Restaurant Association spokesman Dan Conway and Nancy Sidhu of the Los Angeles Economic Development Coroporation.

Residents in many local cities will decide the fate of several growth initiatives on Election Day. Larry and guests discuss one that is creating a lot of controversy. Measure H would allow the Beverly Hilton Hotel to build a 12-story addition of the Waldorf-Astoria hotel and two additional towers for luxury condominiums on its property.
