Childhood Food Allergies On The Rise

AirTalk for October 23, 2008

According to the Centers for Disease Control, food allergies in American children seem to be on the rise, and they now affect about 3 million kids. Nobody knows for sure what's driving the increase. One reason may be that parents are more aware and are quicker to have their kids checked out by a doctor. Larry Mantle talks with childhood Dr. Kari Nadeau, Director of the Allergy Clinics at Stanford University, Dr. Sheila Bonilla, allergist, immunologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at USC, and takes listener calls.
