Economic Round-Up
Amidst talk of a possible new stimulus package and a probable move by the Fed to bolster mutual funds, stocks are finally showing signs of recovery. Larry Mantle talks with Christian Science Monitor reporter Ron Scherer and Berkeley economist Jim Wilcox.
Proposition 9
Proposition 9 has been labeled by supporters as the "California Crime Victims' Bill of Rights." The measure would give victims more consideration in court when judges make bail decisions or release offenders. The opposition says victims already have substantial rights under the current law, and Prop 9 would cost taxpayers too much money. Guests include Nina Salarno-Ashford, Spokeswoman for Yes on Proposition 9, and Roy Ulrich, President of California Tax Reform Association.
Women's Conference
The Women's Conference in Long Beach has grown from a small government initiative for working professionals into one of the largest and most dynamic gatherings of women in the country. Taking place on October 20 and 21 in the Long Beach Convention Center, the event boasts a roster of more than 50 speakers including appearances by Condoleezza Rice, Cherie Blair, Gloria Steinman, and Christiane Amanpour. California's First Lady, Maria Shriver leads the conference and joins Larry to talk about it.

Have your neighbors put political signs on their front lawns that surprised you? Have your political signs surprised/offended your neighbors?
