While embedded with soldiers from the 1st Armored Division in Baghdad, journalist Michael Weisskopf heard a thunk, saw a small, dark object near his feet, reached down, and took it in his hand. Weisskopf lost his hand in the explosion and was sent for treatment to Ward 57 at Walter Reed Medical Center where he met three soldiers whose stories he learned during months in the ward. Larry talks with Weisskopf about the devastation and recovery he, those three soldiers, and hundreds of other faced, which Weisskopf describes in his new book, Blood Brothers.
