The Great Stock Market Crash of '08

AirTalk for October 10, 2008

The comparisons between the international financial crisis and the beginning of the Great Depression may seem overblown, but at the rate international stock markets are falling, the word "crash" is becoming appropriate. World financial leaders are meeting in Washington to look for a solution to the slide. Larry looks for the bottom with economists Andrew Hilton and Peter Morici.

Propositon 2

AirTalk for October 10, 2008

Proposition 2, The California Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act, will appear on the California's November 2008 ballot. If it passes, a new statute will prohibit the confinement of farm animals in a manner that does not allow them to turn around freely, lie down, stand up, or fully extend their limbs. Oopponents say Prop 2 would wipe out California's egg industry and increase the risk of bird flu and salmonella contamination. Larry gets to the yolk at the center of the debate with Human Society President Wayne Pacelle and Julie Buckner from the No on Prop 2 campaign.
