Experts join Guest Host Patt Morrison to preview the upcoming debate between Senator Kerry and President Bush, Friday night at Washington University in St. Louis. The town-hall format will focus on domestic and economic issues. Charles A. Gibson, host of ABC’s “Good Morning America” will moderate the debate. Joining Patt is Dan Schnur, Republican political strategist, and Mark Cooper, Contributing Editor to The Nation magazine and columnist for the LA Weekly.

Afghan Election Preview

On Saturday, October 9th, Afghanistan will hold its first presidential election. Over ten million people in have registered to vote in Saturday’s election that pits incumbent President Hamid Karzai against seventeen other candidates. There are 5,000 polling stations around Afghanistan, and fears abound that the Taliban or Al-Qaeda will try to sabotage the election. Tim McGirk, Time magazine's Islamabad Bureau Chief, now in Kabul, and Peter Tomsen, former special envoy and ambassador on Afghanistan during George Bush, Sr’s, administration, join Patt to discuss the Afghan elections.
