Sean Harrigan, president of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System since early 2003, said Monday that he is being ousted from the board of the nation’s largest public pension fund where he has used his control of the fund’s $177 billion investment portfolio to promote an array of corporate reforms resisted by big business interests.
