But the decisive and monumental proclamation of Lincoln came with the aid of former slave and abolitionist Frederick Douglass. In his new book "Giants," author John Stauffer examines the similar and sometimes intersecting lives of Lincoln and Douglass. Larry speaks with Stauffer about the relationship between the president and the activist writer and why they are inextricably linked.
